The Oltretorrente
(literally “beyond the river”) is the part of Parma which lies on the west bank
of the river Parma and it is an area where not many foreign tourists go,
especially if they are in Parma only for a short tour.
Among the many attractions of Oltretorrente, you
shouldn’t miss the farmers market if you are here on a Saturday.
At the famers market you will able to find all the
local fresh products, both seasonal and year-round. For example in a previous post
I have already mentioned tosone - freshly
made Parmigiano and in a post in Italian, you can see sugo d’uva – a seasonal pudding in
Parma whose main ingredient is grape juice.
